Cerrato produces up to 20 pairs a day, both under its own label and for a handful of tailors in Naples. Interestingly, the amount under its own label has increased steadily.
So there 18 hand-sewn tacks around the top of the Cerrato pair, for example: reinforcing the top and bottom of the side pockets, of the coin pocket, of the join between fly and waistband; at the top and bottom of the join in the back of the waistband.

“"I BELIEVE THE ONLY TRADITION IS TO INNOVATE", BECAUSE YOU KNOW, THE GOOD THING ABOUT TRADITION IS THAT GIVES YOU A LOT OF KNOWLEDGE AND THE BAD THING ABOUT TRADITION IS THAT GIVES YOU A LOT OF KNOWLEDGE.”
This is his story:
Bespoke shoe maker, Norman Vilalta does not believe in reinventing the wheel, but rather innovating and giving it a new lease of life, new angle of usage and vision. And with this foresight, Norman instills this philosophy into his shoe making techniques.
Learning from Master Florentine shoe makers, Norman Vilalta started his career as an International lawyer, in the midst of furthering his skills and knowledge in International Law, he knew there was more to life and life itself. And decided to pursue the art of beauty, and in his version of beauty - shoe making.
Norman Vilalta started off his shoe making career as a bespoke shoe maker, but was yearning for more, to be able to showcase his love for shoe making and design. Norman Vilalta decided the only way to showcase his love for design and overall construction and innovation was to come up with his own line, thus the birth of 'Norman Vilalta'
"Norman’s success didn’t happen by chance : he earned his reputation by being an excellent master bootmaker and a gifted shoe designer. In our opinion, Vilalta is of the same breed as Pierre Corthay, Tony Gaziano and Anthony Delos : artisans who bring something new to the tablewith unforgettable and distinctive designs, hopefully destined to become modern classics." Parisian Gentleman.
L.C via is truly proud and honoured to be partnering up with Mr. Norman Vilalta. To be guided by his love and creativity for shoe making, and endless support for our clients.
